BioOne day, after having finished a particularly upsetting book, Juju was in the process of describing it (in great and vivid detail) to her friend. “And then,” Juju cried enthusiastically, “you won’t believe what happened… Er. Is something the matter?”
Something was indeed the matter. It appeared her friend had been bored comatose.
Juju nudged the prone form with one foot, feeling ever so slightly insulted by this subtle criticism. After all, Juju reasoned, it wasn’t her fault the book was silly, and it was only natural that she wanted to discuss it (in great and vivid detail) with someone else. It wasn’t her fault that her friend hadn’t read it and was consequently in a tedium-induced coma – if only people read what she read, or if she was able to describe (in great and vivid detail) her experiences with reading elsewhere, everyone would be better off.
And thus was born the idea of this journal – a journal wholly dedicated to reviewing and, occasionally, recommending books that Juju had read. Juju’s friends almost cried with relief when she cautiously revealed her idea, flinging themselves from their hospital beds. “Does this mean,” they managed shakily, “that we are free?”
Well, kind of.
“I am still going to have to discuss (in great and vivid detail) movies with someone,” she pointed out.
After some quite frankly shocking threats, it was settled that the journal would also be dedicated to reviewing and, occasionally, recommending movies and, in fact, practically anything Juju wished to describe in great and vivid detail.
PLEASE NOTE:
The reviews in this journal will frequently be incoherent, irreverent, and irrelevant, because they are written purely for fun. Consequently, the reviews will also be as shallow as a foot bath in the local Spa for Overworked Ants. On the bright side, though, some of them may be illustrated!
